What do homeowners ask about Local?
How does hourly pricing actually work?
The hourly rate is set for the crew size you book. Time starts when we arrive at your origin and stops when we finish at your destination. Travel time between origin and destination is included. There's a 2-hour minimum and we round to the nearest 15 minutes after that. The not-to-exceed price on your estimate is a hard cap, even if the move runs long.
Do I need a 2-mover or 3-mover crew?
Studios and most 1-bedroom apartments work fine with 2 movers in a 16-foot truck. 2-bedroom homes and small 3-bedrooms are usually faster and cheaper with 3 movers because the hourly rate is higher but the total time drops by 30 to 40 percent. We'll size the crew during the free phone walk-through.
When does shuttle service get added?
When our 26-foot box truck cannot reach your front door safely. That includes Mt Soledad cliffside streets, parts of Bird Rock and La Jolla Shores with low-clearance trees, Coronado Village alleys, and Julian mountain driveways. We bring a smaller shuttle truck to bridge the last 100 to 500 feet. The shuttle adds time, not a separate flat fee.
What about valuation or insurance on a local move?
Every household goods move comes with Released Value Protection by default at 60 cents per pound per article, included at no charge. That's basic coverage. For replacement-cost protection on a $2,000 TV or a $5,000 sectional, you can buy Full Value Protection at the booking. We walk you through both options before you sign.
Can I pay by the hour and still get a written estimate?
Yes. California requires us to give you a written not-to-exceed estimate even on hourly jobs. You pay actual hours up to that cap. If we finish in 4 hours and the estimate said 6, you pay 4. If a freak elevator outage stretches the job past the cap, the cap holds.

Two-bedroom walk-up off Mission with a 6-foot back alley. They sized it right, brought a 17-foot shuttle, and finished in five hours. Final invoice came in under the binding estimate.
PCS to Norfolk on a tight DPS window. They handled the on-base gate paperwork, weighed the load with us watching, and the long-distance team had it on a USDOT truck by Wednesday. Knew the reimbursement paperwork cold.
Downsizing from a four-bedroom to a two-bedroom condo at 78. The crew sorted with us, dropped donations at AmVets on the way, and never once made us feel rushed. Worth every dollar.
